Made on a budget of Rs one crore, the director of the film Bhupinder had to pitch in Rs 50 lakh for distribution. "Distributors would say, add the name of five producers of this film and change the title to Stupid 12, because this will not work. But we wanted to deliver something different, something relevant, so we pooled in all our savings and resources and here we are," says Bhupinder.
While the film released all over Punjab on February 1, it will go on YouTube rental (pay per view) five days post the release, making it arguably the first Punjabi film to be released online.
